Rose Parade and Randomness

This is the Rose Parade.  A very small part of the parade.  We live less than a block from Colorado St, the street that the parade marches.  For weeks ahead of time bleachers are set up all along the street.  The rule is that all of the floats are only made of flowers or vegetation.  Pretty amazing.  Steve was very excited to share it with us.  People camped out all night to save their spots.  Steve just marched our bar stools down last minute to set them up behind all of the people that camped out all night. We had some of the best seats in the house.  It was a little long for Gracie, but the rest of us really enjoyed it.  Now it was no Disneyland parade mind you, but it was pretty incredible all the same.

Aliese made bread at mutual a few weeks ago, and made it at home all by herself yesterday.  It was entirely scrumptious in every single way.  I just might turn over the bread making responsibility to Aliese.  The recipe was different than mine, a little more white flour (not much more though), twice as much honey, and less butter.  Sooooooooo good.  The first loaf was gone in 10 minutes flat, and Steve wasn't even home!

Anna and her beloved guitar.  Our artist in the making, in just about every facet of her life.

Gracie with my favorite appliance that has finally made her culinarily independent (well somewhat independent).

I'm jealous, aren't you?

  1. Wow. Great post. I forgot who's blog I clicked on because your girls looks so different!!!! It really freaks me out!!!! Aliese looks like a WOMAN. She's got curves- when did that happen?!! The only one that looks the same is Gracie, but her hair is longer. You guys are too far away to be changing so much. It was great seeing a bit of your apartment in the photos! I've always wanted to see it! You should take pics of it all for us! Thanks for posting! Wish I could've seen the parade. Sounds way cool.

  3. I love that picture of Steve, who else do you know besides other men that can walk in after church and leave the tie on and NAP???? I am jealous of them also. I loved that Aliese can make such beautiful bread, yummo! Little Gracie is growing into a little girl, and Anna looks really grown up, but Aleise is a young woman for sure now, she is stunning! I wondered if you would see the Rose Parade as my uncle used to live in Pasadena and he always went, I couldn't believe the Ducks won the game. I think it is wonderful that you got such great seats, thanks to such a nice husband. Good job Steve. Love you all Hugs and Kisses to all
